Table Toppers

What do you do on your down time..... Here are a few of the smaller quilts I have been making from the leftover box.

I hate to call my leftover box the scrap pile as I really never have scraps.  Preferring to use them up and try out new patterns at the same time.

Sometimes though you can just look at a fabric and say, that would be perfect as...... and make one of your old standards.

Even if you still have a small piece of fabric that you just couldn't fit into the top, don't forget the back.

All of these cute table toppers and candle mats are for sale in Seriously Pinned's shop at
862 Manawagonish Rd.
Saint John, NB.
506-252-7278

So stop in say hi and have a look at the new quilts.  There is never any obligation and any comments are always welcome....if they are constructive.
You never know you might just find a set of placemats that would be perfect on the sun room table.

All are reasonably priced, washable and handmade with care and attention.

Designer Pack Sacks

I had such a nice email the other day.  Maureen from Calgary sent a "help, are you still making pack sacks?"  Her two that she had from years ago, one as a gift from her sister and the other because see loved the first so much, have finally worn out.

The green one is at least 7 years old and the blue 4 years.  Funny story the quilt in the background was started by Maureen's grandmother, worked on by her mother and completed by me.  Not bad eh.

Back to pack sacks.

After sending Maureen a few photos of samples of fabric she chose silver and burgundy.

Out front there are 2 buttoned pockets (or zippered when requested) and 2 side pockets perfect for glasses, personal fan, or a small water bottle.  They are well made and washable.

Both of the bags have 2 zippered pockets in the inside, A hidden pocket and a key chain holder.

The straps are adjustable and the drawstring is complete with a toggle.

They make awesome gifts and once you have used one of these designer bags you will never go back to a regular purse.   If you are interested stop by the shop to check out what's available or to chose the fabric that best suits you.  You can also be like Maureen and email me a request.  Check out Seriously Pinned at https://seriouslypinned.ca  for contact information.

Here is a picture of mine, stuffed and ready for any adventure I can throw at it.

Jo-Anne's Baby Elephant.

Baby quilts are always so much fun to topstitch.

Sunshine, butterflies and wispy clouds makes this little elephant the cutest thing.

Give him lots of grass and flowers to play in and let your imagination have fun as well.

Surrounded by loops and stars Jo-anne's little quilt is sure to make someone very happy and sure to be a favorite drag around quilt.

All on a minky back, warm fuzzy and ohhhh so cuddly.

Little Box of Treasures 2

Pauline's stars are beautiful.

Close-up.
Table topper
It is surprising what a change in the appearance the thread color can make.  At times it is difficult to decide which looks more natural, dark on light or light on dark.  My preference is dark on light. I hope Pauline agrees.

A large table runner.
A fun pattern to topstitch.

Spring has Sprung!

Laundry Day

This little wall hanger turned out so cute.  I even added cloths pegs to the line.

Let the sun shine.

That was quite the box.  Just wait for the next one.  Pauline has sent pillows to make, halloween bats to fly and a box of fall and christmas goodies.

Little box of treasures

Once again Pauline has come through with a delightful box of treasures.  Little quilts on one backing.  Huge savings!!

A 5 min sewing job saves big time.

But lets get to the treasures.

A big spiraling spiky flower.

Always so much fun to do.  It is like opening a little book of riddles , just waiting to be solved.

It sure shows up in the white
with a off white thread.

Just look at this!! Beautiful.

Added more dragonflies and a lot of
loops.  Perfect match to the fabric.

I just love how this turned out.  This topper is going to be stunning on Pauline's Table.

That is all I'm showing for this blog, stay in tune for the next.  Hanging out the laundry and more.  Pauline has been very busy during lockdown.

Meadow Land

Rose's quilt Meadow Land is gorgeous. It is bright and springy.

She always does such an excellent job piecing and I had a lot of fun topstitching Meadow Land.

We decided to try out a new topstitch pattern that I seen in one of the Fonds and Porter quilting magazines.  It turned out fantastic and really suits the quilt.

Using a very light baby blue thread made the topstitch pattern pop just a little more than white would have done.

Very nice quilt Rose and if you ever get tired of it, it is more than welcome to hang out on my bed for a while.  lol

Showing off the back!!

Mom's Little Monsters.

I've been having a ball making Mom's Little Monsters on days that we are not renovating Tyler's shop.   Lurch Lurch in his butl...
