Romance

This is the most romantic quilt I have ever done.  Bev brought in this lovely Turned Corner's quilt for David.

David made this quilt top for his girl friend.  Wow!! It is bright and bold and big.

But how romantic is that.....

Back topstitch with big bold flowers.

Nice to know romance is still well and alive in the world of quilting...a very romantic art indeed.

Pumpkin Patch

Kathy brought me a patch of pumpkins to topstitch.  It is always fun to have new things to work out.

To start we do a little designing on the clear board to see exactly what is needed and what looks best.

Then the thread color and last load your treasures on to the longarm.

Lots of pumpkins.
Along with Kathy's pumpkins she took advantage of the many on one  back and had 2 placemats done at the same time.

Aren't they pretty.

Ready for halloween and Kathy has a good start on Christmas gifts.

50 years to Topstitch

Kathleen brought me this wonderful old quilt top to finish.

I had been passed to cousin, and sisters, stored in basements and attics for more than 50 years.

A little stained and very delicate, it took a slow and steady hand to preserve this wonderful old quilt top.

A simple flower topstitched to match
the many flowers on the fabric.

Such a pretty back.

Hunter Scrappy

The topstitch pattern, Feathered Scrolls, turned out beautiful on Kathy's Hunter Scrappy quilt.

I love the movement that it creates.

We decided on a very light green thread called pistachio.  It was perfect, light with just a hint of a blue/green hue.

A beautiful quilt Kathy.

The back is gorgeous!

Page 2 of the Wonderful works of Pauline

All ready for Christmas,  Poinsettias ribbons, bows and gifts galore.

Poinsettias work well in a square, especially when you can double or triple the  flower leaves.

Adding many to the back.

One of my favorites, radiating out from a center swirl.

Simple and elegant.

Sparkle and stars.

A lovely pieced back.

Pauline also sent a panel of a hand embroidered motif.  Asking that I make it into a pillow sham.  A few bits of fabric from other works and a strip of green to match the photo she sent of her new quilt.  It turned out beautiful.

All in all a wonderful box full of boo's, glitter and gold, and pillows to dream on.

The Wonderful works of Pauline

Pauline has sent another box of goodies from Vancouver, filled with table runners, halloween and Christmas delights.

The pumpkin patch complete with a garden of corn.  It was fun to make the corn field in the center encircled with big fat wonderful pumpkins.

Bright red and ready for fall.

Long and gorgeous, topstitched with a simple tied ribbons all on a bow.

Adding a few butterflies in the corners of this simple table topper is sure to add a bit of interest.  Just a little conversation piece.

Just off the cherry tree!!

Lots of O's for OHHHHH!!

As always saving a bundle when all of the smaller items can be placed on one backing.

And then there are bats and Boo's.  Adding text and little sayings is always fun to add to any quilt.

Now this was a big box of goodies so say tuned for the next set in the next blog.

Mom's Little Monsters.

I've been having a ball making Mom's Little Monsters on days that we are not renovating Tyler's shop.   Lurch Lurch in his butl...
